Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'A Little Eastern' by William Gale was sold in the Victorian, British and Impressionist Art auction at Christies in London in November 2013. The price achieved of GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,955.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Gale achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Die Klagemauer in Jerusalem. 1863. in March 2009 with an auction result of CHF 318,000.00 (€ 210,449.29).

Die Arbeit 'A Little Eastern' von William Gale wurde im November 2013 in der Auktion Victorian, British and Impressionist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.625,00 (€ 1.955,47) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Gale erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Die Klagemauer in Jerusalem. 1863. im März 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 318.000,00 (€ 210.449,29).
