This artwork by William Fraser Garden achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2014. In the A Green and Pleasant Land: Two Centuries of British Landscape Painting auction, the work A Recollection Of Stevington, Bedfordshire sold for GBP 10,625.00 (€ 13,058.47) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Fraser Garden have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Woodland scene at twilight in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 60,000.00 (€ 88,947.85).
