Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The last load by William Edward Norton was sold in the British and European Art Online auction at Bonhams in London in September this year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,664.00 (€ 1,664.00). Admittedly, works by William Edward Norton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A barque under sail and running down Channel in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 10,755.00 (€ 16,136.46).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The last load von William Edward Norton wurde im September diesen Jahres in der Auktion British and European Art Online bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.664,00 (€ 1.664,00) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Edward Norton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A barque under sail and running down Channel im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.755,00 (€ 16.136,46).
