Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Beyond Imagination: Outsider and Vernacular Art Featuring the Collection of Marjorie and Harvey Freed, which included the work Nurse Wootton by William Edmondson. The price achieved of USD 112,500.00 (€ 90,521.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Edmondson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Boxer, Circa 1936 in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 785,000.00 (€ 724,704.58).
