Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Venture, A Prize Fox Terrier by William Eddowes Turner was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 700.00 – 900.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 600.00 (€ 881.48). Admittedly, works by William Eddowes Turner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A chestnut racehorse and a Jack Russell in a stable in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 2,467.50 (€ 3,545.93).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Venture, A Prize Fox Terrier von William Eddowes Turner im November 2005 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 700,00 – 900,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 600,00 (€ 881,48) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Eddowes Turner auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A chestnut racehorse and a Jack Russell in a stable im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.467,50 (€ 3.545,93).
