In the 19th Century and British Impressionist Art auction, the work Pond near Highgate sold for GBP 5,737.50 (€ 6,740.08) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Davis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A field of corn in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 20,315.00 (€ 29,162.48).
