Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work The Favourite Pet by William Christian Symons. The price achieved of GBP 10,560.00 (€ 15,379.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Christian Symons - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Anchor'S Weighed, Remember Me, which sold at auction in December 2006 for GBP 24,000.00 (€ 35,619.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Favourite Pet von William Christian Symons zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.560,00 (€ 15.379,54) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William Christian Symons mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Anchor'S Weighed, Remember Me beobachtet, die im Dezember 2006 für GBP 24.000,00 (€ 35.619,00) versteigert wurde.
