Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Menton, France by William Callow for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,198.83). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours including a Fine Collection of Old Master Prints at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Callow achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Dogana, Venice, Sunrise in December 2015 with an auction result of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 59,410.40).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Menton, France von William Callow für GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.198,83) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours including a Fine Collection of Old Master Prints bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Callow erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Dogana, Venice, Sunrise im Dezember 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 59.410,40).
