Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Harrow on the Hill by William Callow was sold in the Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection auction at Sothebys in London in December 2020. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,134.00 (€ 1,266.78) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Callow achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Dogana, Venice, Sunrise in December 2015 with an auction result of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 59,410.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Harrow on the Hill von William Callow wurde im Dezember 2020 in der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.134,00 (€ 1.266,78) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Callow erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Dogana, Venice, Sunrise im Dezember 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 59.410,40).
