The price achieved of GBP 720.00 (€ 1,054.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Other works by William Buckler have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2008 the work Portrait of a lady, thought to be Horatia Nelson Ward, seated in a garden chair was auctioned for GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,431.05).
