A top price for William Buckler - as previously expected
The work Portrait of a lady, thought to be Horatia Nelson Ward, seated in a garden chair by William Buckler was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,431.05) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Portrait of a lady, thought to be Horatia Nelson Ward, seated in a garden chair is the most expensive artwork by William Buckler that we have observed at auctions so far.
