Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Bennett could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Watercolours auction, the work A River Rushing Through A Romantic Landscape changed hands for GBP 120.00 (€ 178.20) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Bennett achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Robert Bullough, bust-length, wearing a red velvet jacket and white cravat; and Portrait of his wife, Sarah, bust-length, wearing a blue dress with lace borders and two brooches, in a feigned oval in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 2,987.50 (€ 4,482.35).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Robert Bullough, bust-length, wearing a red velvet jacket and white cravat; and Portrait of his wife, Sarah, bust-length, wearing a blue dress with lace borders and two brooches, in a feigned oval im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.987,50 (€ 4.482,35).
