Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2004 Christies in London held the auction The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh, which included the work A French River by William Alfred Gibson. The price achieved of GBP 2,629.00 (€ 3,783.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Alfred Gibson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Sands of Morar, which sold at auction in March 2002 for GBP 7,050.00 (€ 11,524.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh durch, in der auch die Arbeit A French River von William Alfred Gibson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.629,00 (€ 3.783,85) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William Alfred Gibson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Sands of Morar beobachtet, die im März 2002 für GBP 7.050,00 (€ 11.524,89) versteigert wurde.
