Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Study of a nude youth by William-Adolphe Bouguereau was sold in the Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours auction at Christies in London in July this year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 9,450.00 (€ 11,025.29), 18% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William-Adolphe Bouguereau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Jeunesse De Bacchus in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 20,766,000.00 (€ 18,625,885.73).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Study of a nude youth von William-Adolphe Bouguereau wurde im Juli diesen Jahres in der Auktion Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 9.450,00 (€ 11.025,29) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William-Adolphe Bouguereau erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Jeunesse De Bacchus im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 20.766.000,00 (€ 18.625.885,73).
