In September 2001 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS INCL. COPIES AFTER OMPIX, which included the work A portrait of the musician Peter Spaan by Willem van Konijnenburg. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 352.50 31% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem van Konijnenburg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rituele dans: a ritual dance in June 2017 with an auction result of EUR 22,500.00.

Im September 2001 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS INCL. COPIES AFTER OMPIX durch, in der auch die Arbeit A portrait of the musician Peter Spaan von Willem van Konijnenburg zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 352,50 und damit 31% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem van Konijnenburg erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Rituele dans: a ritual dance im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 22.500,00.
