Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Mythological Scene by Willem van Konijnenburg was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 600.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 597.50. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem van Konijnenburg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rituele dans: a ritual dance in June 2017 with an auction result of EUR 22,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Mythological Scene von Willem van Konijnenburg im September 2004 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 597,50 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem van Konijnenburg erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Rituele dans: a ritual dance im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 22.500,00.
