Auction result misses estimated price range

This work of art by Willem Gruyter could be acquired at Christies in London in May 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Maritime Pictures auction, the work A Dutch Barge And Other Shipping In A Stiff Offshore Breeze changed hands for GBP 240.00 (€ 350.32) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem Gruyter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Marine. in April 2011 with an auction result of CHF 9,000.00 (€ 7,007.02).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Willem Gruyter konnte im Mai 2006 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Maritime Pictures wechselte die Arbeit A Dutch Barge And Other Shipping In A Stiff Offshore Breeze für GBP 240,00 (€ 350,32) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 400,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem Gruyter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Marine. im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 9.000,00 (€ 7.007,02).
