Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Limburg, Fantasy Of The Eperheide by Willem Gerard Hofker was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2014. The price achieved of HKD 68,750.00 (€ 6,394.20) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem Gerard Hofker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ni Goesti Kompiang Mawar in November 2012 with an auction result of EUR 781,000.00.
