In April 2015 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work In The Puri Ubud, The Ubud Palace by Willem Gerard Hofker. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 1,375,000.00 (€ 158,909.69), 72% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Willem Gerard Hofker have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ni Goesti Kompiang Mawar in November 2012 with an auction result of EUR 781,000.00.

Im April 2015 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit In The Puri Ubud, The Ubud Palace von Willem Gerard Hofker zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 1.375.000,00 (€ 158.909,69) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Willem Gerard Hofker auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ni Goesti Kompiang Mawar im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 781.000,00.
