Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work By the river in winter by Willem de Zwart was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 812.50. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem de Zwart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Marietje in het gras: the daughter of the artist with a straw head in June 2017 with an auction result of EUR 56,250.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit By the river in winter von Willem de Zwart im September 2008 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 812,50 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem de Zwart erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Marietje in het gras: the daughter of the artist with a straw head im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 56.250,00.
