Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Figures In A Landscape #2 by Willem de Kooning was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Evening Sale auction at Christies in New York in November 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,500,000.00 – 2,500,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,565,000.00 (€ 1,481,726.95) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem de Kooning achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled XXV in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 66,327,500.00 (€ 62,703,252.03).

Die Arbeit Figures In A Landscape #2 von Willem de Kooning wurde im November 2015 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Evening Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500.000,00 – 2.500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.565.000,00 (€ 1.481.726,95) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem de Kooning erzielen.
