Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of A Man With Green Hat by Wilhelm Leibl was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 81,250.00 (€ 89,207.10) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Wilhelm Leibl have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ein Kritiker in November this year with an auction result of EUR 403,200.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait Of A Man With Green Hat von Wilhelm Leibl kam im Juli 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 81.250,00 (€ 89.207,10) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wilhelm Leibl auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ein Kritiker im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 403.200,00.
