This artwork by Werner Drewes achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in June 2016. In the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Composition #268 sold for USD 52,500.00 (€ 47,588.83) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Werner Drewes; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Expectation of New Events sold at auction in November last year with the realized price of USD 75,975.00 (€ 73,597.79).

In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture wurde die Arbeit Composition #268 für USD 52.500,00 (€ 47.588,83) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Werner Drewes; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Expectation of New Events im November letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 75.975,00 (€ 73.597,79).
