This artwork by Werner Drewes achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in June 2016. In the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Composition #268 sold for USD 52,500.00 (€ 47,588.83) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Werner Drewes; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Expectation of New Events sold at auction in November last year with the realized price of USD 75,975.00 (€ 73,597.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Werner Drewes erzielte im Juni 2016 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture wurde die Arbeit Composition #268 für USD 52.500,00 (€ 47.588,83) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Werner Drewes; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Expectation of New Events im November letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 75.975,00 (€ 73.597,79).
