Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September last year Christies in New York held the auction Thoughts Across the Waters: Asian Art from the David Drabkin Collection, which included the work Old Tree, Rock And Bamboo by Wen Zhengming. The »bidding war« ended at USD 23,940.00 (€ 24,471.02), 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wen Zhengming achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poems In Large Running Script in May 2019 with an auction result of HKD 83,227,500.00 (€ 9,525,364.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Thoughts Across the Waters: Asian Art from the David Drabkin Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Old Tree, Rock And Bamboo von Wen Zhengming zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 23.940,00 (€ 24.471,02) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wen Zhengming erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Poems In Large Running Script im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 83.227.500,00 (€ 9.525.364,61).
