The work Poems in Cursive Script by Wen Zhengming was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in December this year. It achieved a price of HKD 10,055,000.00 (€ 1,163,478.58), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 68%. Admittedly, works by Wen Zhengming have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Poems In Large Running Script in May 2019 with an auction result of HKD 83,227,500.00 (€ 9,525,364.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 68 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Poems in Cursive Script von Wen Zhengming kam im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 10.055.000,00 (€ 1.163.478,58) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 68%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wen Zhengming auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Poems In Large Running Script im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 83.227.500,00 (€ 9.525.364,61).
