This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century Chinese Art & Asian Contemporary Art at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 55,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Wei Rong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Propaganda Studio in November 2007 with an auction result of HKD 2,167,500.00 (€ 189,479.17).

Die Arbeit The Chinese Opera Singers von Wei Rong war einem Käufer im Mai 2005 HKD 204.000,00 (€ 21.244,15) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion 20th Century Chinese Art & Asian Contemporary Art bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 55.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wei Rong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Propaganda Studio im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.167.500,00 (€ 189.479,17).
