Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Collection of A. Alfred Taubman: Modern & Contemporary Art, which included the work Woman With Four Hats by Wayne Thiebaud. It changed hands for a price of USD 970,000.00 (€ 918,386.67) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 700,000.00 – 1,000,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wayne Thiebaud achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Encased Cakes in July last year with an auction result of HKD 79,200,000.00 (€ 9,882,532.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion The Collection of A. Alfred Taubman: Modern & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Woman With Four Hats von Wayne Thiebaud zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 970.000,00 (€ 918.386,67) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 700.000,00 – 1.000.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wayne Thiebaud erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Encased Cakes im Juli letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 79.200.000,00 (€ 9.882.532,84).
