Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Edo Period (1615-1868), 1829 by Watanabe Kazan was sold in the Fine Japanese and Korean Art, including the Crawford Collection of Surimono auction at Bonhams in New York in September 2021. It changed hands for a price of USD 4,845.00 (€ 4,185.02) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Watanabe Kazan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Autumn grasses in March 2003 with an auction result of USD 19,120.00 (€ 17,541.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Edo Period (1615-1868), 1829 von Watanabe Kazan wurde im September 2021 in der Auktion Fine Japanese and Korean Art, including the Crawford Collection of Surimono bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 4.845,00 (€ 4.185,02) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Watanabe Kazan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Autumn grasses im März 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 19.120,00 (€ 17.541,28).
