In April 2021 Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Wilkinkarra (Lake Mackay), 2004 by Warlimpirrnga Tjapaltjarri. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 46,740.00 (€ 38,852.87), 34% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Warlimpirrnga Tjapaltjarri - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Marawa, which sold at auction in December 2019 for USD 100,000.00 (€ 89,070.99).

Im April 2021 führte Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Wilkinkarra (Lake Mackay), 2004 von Warlimpirrnga Tjapaltjarri zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 46.740,00 (€ 38.852,87) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Warlimpirrnga Tjapaltjarri mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Marawa beobachtet, die im Dezember 2019 für USD 100.000,00 (€ 89.070,99) versteigert wurde.
