Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Warlimpirrnga Tjapaltjarri could be acquired at Phillips in London in July this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the New Now auction, the work Tingari at Tumurunga changed hands for GBP 6,350.00 (€ 7,408.53) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Warlimpirrnga Tjapaltjarri achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Marawa in December 2019 with an auction result of USD 100,000.00 (€ 89,070.99).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Warlimpirrnga Tjapaltjarri konnte im Juli diesen Jahres bei Phillips in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion New Now wechselte die Arbeit Tingari at Tumurunga für GBP 6.350,00 (€ 7.408,53) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Warlimpirrnga Tjapaltjarri erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Marawa im Dezember 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 100.000,00 (€ 89.070,99).
