A top price for Wang Yuan
This artwork by Wang Yuan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2017. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Calligraphy Couplet In Zhangcao sold for HKD 137,500.00 (€ 15,133.50) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00. This high result makes Calligraphy Couplet In Zhangcao the most expensive artwork by Wang Yuan that we have observed at auctions so far.
