This artwork by Wang Yong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2018. In the Chinese Contemporary Ink auction, the work Calligraphy in Cursive Script sold for HKD 525,000.00 (€ 57,358.61) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 200,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Wang Yong; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Calligraphy in Cursive Script - Poem by Li Bai sold at auction in November 2018 with the realized price of HKD 750,000.00 (€ 84,650.71).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Wang Yong erzielte im Mai 2018 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Chinese Contemporary Ink wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy in Cursive Script für HKD 525.000,00 (€ 57.358,61) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 200.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Wang Yong; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Calligraphy in Cursive Script - Poem by Li Bai im November 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 750.000,00 (€ 84.650,71).
