A top price for Wang Tongyu
When the work Landscape After Huang Gongwang by Wang Tongyu was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2017, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 60,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than six times as high at HKD 375,000.00 (€ 40,374.43). This high result makes Landscape After Huang Gongwang the most expensive artwork by Wang Tongyu that we have observed at auctions so far.

Als die Arbeit Landscape After Huang Gongwang von Wang Tongyu im November 2017 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 60.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 375.000,00 (€ 40.374,43) mehr als sechsmal so hoch. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht Landscape After Huang Gongwang zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Wang Tongyu, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
