He Man’an, born in Panyu, Guangdong Province, was an important collector of Chinese paintings and calligraphy in the region of Lingnan. The name of his studio was Lingbi Shanfang and he was especially fond of collecting works by artists in the Lingnan region.
Each scroll measures 29 x 44 cm. (11 ⅜ x 17 ⅜ in.)

The work Calligraphy in Cursive Clerical Script by Wang Qiumei was sold in the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2018. It achieved a price of HKD 16,250.00 (€ 1,775.39), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 63%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Qiumei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Correspondences in September last year with an auction result of HKD 189,000.00 (€ 24,593.38).

Die Arbeit Calligraphy in Cursive Clerical Script von Wang Qiumei wurde im Mai 2018 in der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 16.250,00 (€ 1.775,39) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 63%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Qiumei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Correspondences im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 189.000,00 (€ 24.593,38).
