NOTE:
Dedicated to Li Lingshuang and He Xiufeng, the parents of Wang’s son-in-law Ho Mang Hang, this book of calligraphy was written en route overseas to recuperate from illness. During the voyage, Wang began using an inkstone given to him by his in-laws, and inscribed calligraphy in a notebook with lock and clasp that he purchased in France as a present. He Xiufeng was a known seal carver and collector from Guangdong. Li Lishuang was also the sister of the revolutionary Li Peishu, who first introdu

Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Wang Jingwei achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2017. In the Fine Chinese Modern Paintings auction, the work Poems of Shuangzhaolou sold for HKD 475,000.00 (€ 54,238.61) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 180,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wang Jingwei - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Poems Of Shuangzhaolou, which sold at auction in May 2019 for HKD 1,062,500.00 (€ 121,602.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wang Jingwei erzielte im Mai 2017 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings wurde die Arbeit Poems of Shuangzhaolou für HKD 475.000,00 (€ 54.238,61) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 180.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Wang Jingwei mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Poems Of Shuangzhaolou beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für HKD 1.062.500,00 (€ 121.602,83) versteigert wurde.
