NOTE:
In spring 1919, Wang Jingwei journeyed from Shanghai through the U.S., en route to attend the Paris Peace Conference as a private citizen. The three works presented here (Lots1336-1338) were used as templates for carving on a dresser’s wooden panels.

Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Wang Jingwei achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2017. In the Fine Chinese Modern Paintings auction, the work Poem from Shuangzhaolou: To Bingru, on Boat Passing Through Honolulu sold for HKD 200,000.00 (€ 22,837.31) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Wang Jingwei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Poems Of Shuangzhaolou in May 2019 with an auction result of HKD 1,062,500.00 (€ 121,602.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wang Jingwei erzielte im Mai 2017 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings wurde die Arbeit Poem from Shuangzhaolou: To Bingru, on Boat Passing Through Honolulu für HKD 200.000,00 (€ 22.837,31) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wang Jingwei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Poems Of Shuangzhaolou im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.062.500,00 (€ 121.602,83).
