In October 2004 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 20TH CENTURY CHINESE ART & ASIAN CONTEMPORARY ART, which included the work Great Criticism: Disney by Wang Guanyi. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 501,900.00 (€ 50,560.14), 43% above the upper estimate. Other works by Wang Guanyi have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of HKD 720,000.00 (€ 78,778.63) in November 2005 for the work Nike.

Im Oktober 2004 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion 20TH CENTURY CHINESE ART & ASIAN CONTEMPORARY ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Great Criticism: Disney von Wang Guanyi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 501.900,00 (€ 50.560,14) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Andere Arbeiten von Wang Guanyi haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von HKD 720.000,00 (€ 78.778,63) im November 2005 für die Arbeit Nike beobachtet.
