Sold at the lower estimate price
The work Landscapes by Wang Chen was sold in the The Roy and Marilyn Papp Collection of Chinese Paintings auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2016. The result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 26,695.14) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Chen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rivers Xiao and Xiang in November 2019 with an auction result of HKD 3,725,000.00 (€ 432,031.04).
