Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2011 Christies in London held the auction Travel and Vintage Posters, which included the work Cunard Canadian Service by Walter Thomas. It changed hands for a price of GBP 750.00 (€ 875.55) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by Walter Thomas have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cunard, Boston To Europe in April 2012 with an auction result of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,132.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Travel and Vintage Posters durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cunard Canadian Service von Walter Thomas zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 750,00 (€ 875,55) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Walter Thomas auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cunard, Boston To Europe im April 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 6.132,36).
