Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work The Flying Dutchman by Walter Shirlaw for USD 660.00 (€ 520.22). This price was achieved in the auction The House Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Shirlaw achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mother And Daughter in March 2005 with an auction result of USD 8,400.00 (€ 6,476.98).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2006 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Flying Dutchman von Walter Shirlaw für USD 660,00 (€ 520,22) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The House Sale bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walter Shirlaw erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mother And Daughter im März 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.400,00 (€ 6.476,98).
