Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Wagen Auf 4 Schienen (Car On 4 Rails) by Walter Pichler was worth EUR 11,250.00 to a buyer in May 2021. This price was achieved in the auction The Curator’s Eye: The Collection of Professor Dr Karin von Maur at Christies in Amsterdam and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of EUR 3,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Walter Pichler; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Liegender (Toter) sold at auction in December 2016 with the realized price of EUR 15,000.00.

Die Arbeit Wagen Auf 4 Schienen (Car On 4 Rails) von Walter Pichler war einem Käufer im Mai 2021 EUR 11.250,00 wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion The Curator’s Eye: The Collection of Professor Dr Karin von Maur bei Christies in Amsterdam erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 3.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Walter Pichler; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Liegender (Toter) im Dezember 2016 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 15.000,00.
