Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Sunny Day On The Beach by Walter John Beauvais was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 360.00 (€ 531.47). Admittedly, works by Walter John Beauvais have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A bustling Mediterranean beach; and Another similar in January 2002 with an auction result of GBP 1,645.00 (€ 2,702.75).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Sunny Day On The Beach von Walter John Beauvais im Mai 2005 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 360,00 (€ 531,47) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Walter John Beauvais auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A bustling Mediterranean beach; and Another similar im Januar 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.645,00 (€ 2.702,75).
