Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2010 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work A busy beach; and Elegant ladies enjoying the sun by Walter John Beauvais. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 937.50 (€ 1,098.41), 17% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter John Beauvais - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A bustling Mediterranean beach; and Another similar, which sold at auction in January 2002 for GBP 1,645.00 (€ 2,702.75).
