Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2016 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art, which included the work Off to market by Walter Hunt. The price achieved of GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,238.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Hunt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Highland Hearth in December 2009 with an auction result of GBP 79,250.00 (€ 89,396.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Off to market von Walter Hunt zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.250,00 (€ 6.238,14) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walter Hunt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Highland Hearth im Dezember 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 79.250,00 (€ 89.396,79).
