In the The French Touch: Hommage à Alain et Catherine Bernard auction, the work The Pussy Chase changed hands for EUR 11,970.00 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Walter Hunt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Highland Hearth in December 2009 with an auction result of GBP 79,250.00 (€ 89,396.79).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Walter Hunt konnte im September 2020 bei Sothebys in Paris für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The French Touch: Hommage à Alain et Catherine Bernard wechselte die Arbeit The Pussy Chase für EUR 11.970,00 den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Walter Hunt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Highland Hearth im Dezember 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 79.250,00 (€ 89.396,79).
