A top price for Walter Hood Fitch - as previously expected
In September 2005 Christies in New York held the auction THE HOUSE SALE, which included the work Icones Plantarum: Seven Plates by Walter Hood Fitch. The price achieved of USD 1,680.00 (€ 1,393.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Icones Plantarum: Seven Plates is the most expensive artwork by Walter Hood Fitch that we have observed at auctions so far.
