Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Coming Storm, Winter by Walter Withers was sold in the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction at Christies in Melbourne in May 2004. The price achieved of AUD 23,900.00 (€ 13,964.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Walter Withers have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Farmer'S Girl in May 2005 with an auction result of AUD 221,075.00 (€ 135,896.05).
