Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Spring Time by Walter Granville-Smith was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,750.00 (€ 2,834.68). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter Granville-Smith - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work By The Seashore, which sold at auction in October 2015 for USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,226.23).
