Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Laura reading by Walter Crane was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2012. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 35,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 37,250.00 (€ 45,939.60). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Crane achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Fate of Persephone that fair field Of Enna, where Proserpine, gathering flowers, Herself a fairer flower, by gloomy Dis Was gathered. (Paradise Lost, Book IV, lines 268-71) in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 424,650.00 (€ 656,837.38).

Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 35.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 37.250,00 (€ 45.939,60) einen neuen Besitzer.
