Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by W. Wilson could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2001 for an unexpectedly low price. In the MARITIME AND NAVAL BATTLES auction, the work Running Out Of Harbour In A Stiff Breeze changed hands for GBP 352.50 (€ 560.94) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Other works by W. Wilson have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in September 2002 by the work Leaving harbour at GBP 705.00 (€ 1,120.41).
